We are a couple from Sandy Utah planning to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2012. In May 2012 we will both graduate from the University of Utah, Jenna with a BS in biochemistry and Nathan with a BS in geology. We plan on beginning the trail in Campo, US on May 6th 2012.Here is some information and fun facts about us.
Nate - My name is Nate. I grew up in Sandy, Utah and am graduating in May 2012 from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have enjoyed hiking and backpacking my whole life and more recently have gotten into climbing. I am excited to begin hiking the PCT in May. The reasons I am hiking the PCT are because I love this earth and think it is beautiful and also because I want to see the whole world. I also am hiking because it has been a dream since my early teens. It will be an amazing adventure, comparable to Frodo & Sam's. I am excited to see what Jenna and I are capable of and am excited to see all of our planning & hard work put into action. Cheers!
Jenna - Hi all, I’m
Jenna. I have been lucky to grow up in
Utah where the mountains are less than a 5 minute drive away. I love hiking, climbing, and using the peace
and calm of the outdoors as a haven to lose myself in thought. In May, I will graduate with a major in
biochemistry and a minor in physics and after hiking the PCT, I plan to begin graduate
work in neuroscience. I am looking
forward to pushing my physical and mental limits and am excited to meet
everyone on the trail.
